HELLO HEY HI!
Last night, February 3, was the first WIXQ meeting of the semester. Here is the record of that event.
We have a new advisor! Dr. Lowery Woodall, from the Communications Department, is the new faculty advisor of WIXQ. If you have any questions for him about anything, he’ll be frequenting the station and also has office hours in Hash 151. He’ll also be listening in on shows and is looking forward to meeting everyone!
If you changed anything about your show (name, people on it, time, anything) you need to make a new promo. The promos are due by February 15. Matt and Luke both have office hours, but if they don’t work for you just schedule a meeting.
Monday and Tuesday :: 9pm-10pm
Friday :: 4pm-5pm
Monday 4:30 to 6
Tuesday 2:30 to 3:30
Wednesday 4:30 to 6
Thursday 4 to 5:30
The automation has been being a bit weird lately and if it’s not on when you’re done your show you MUST power down the station. If you don’t remember how to do that, Shannon has instructions for it on the hall blackboard. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Come out of the soundboard studio and look to your left. It’s right there. If you have any questions about things, e-mail Shannon and she’ll answer your questions there!
Here are two other rules: 1. If you’re not sure if you should play something, please don’t play it! Be smart about the things you’re playing. 2. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE AT ALL EVER TAKE AN ON AIR PHONE CALL. EVER. There are a lot of legal things that have to do with on-air phone calls. So, just don’t do it.
Nick is going to have the Top 30 done sometime this week. There will be new music on the computer, along with new CDs in the filing cabinet. Thank you for playing the music he gives you!
The allocations for next year are done. If you want to know how that works or if you have any questions about it, talk to Cody!
Over the break, Tyler worked on our new website! The instructions for how to log songs/how to sign in are on the turntable and also the Facebook Page.

If you know anyone that is interested in joining WIXQ, Paula will be hosting a new DJ meeting on February 17th. It’s at 6 in SMC room 24. If you have any questions for her, contact her through her WIXQ e-mail.

And then you can refresh the page and do it again! Nominations will be closed on the 7th.
Hot dog! Hot Dog! The Highway cleanup will be on February 24, at 10 o’clock. There are 14 spots for the cleanup, and it’s on a first come first serve basis. You are not allowed to sign anyone else up and make sure you don’t sign up if you’re not sure if you can make it.
There is also the WIXQ Future Leader’s Scholarship. Please see Doc if you would like to sign up.
Dining hall playlists are still being accepted. Just make a 30 minute playlist and drop it off in the station (in a pouch on Bri’s door, under Shannon, Bri or Nick’s door, somewhere safe and secure). Some members of council are meeting with the dining hall people on Tuesday to give the already made demos. Don’t have a flash drive? Ask Shannon for one!
Okay, so Facebook has started to make sounds whenever you get a notification. If you’re going to be on air and on Facebook, this needs to be turned OFF. Bri posted a nice little ‘how to’ on the page, so just check that out if you need help.
If you want a position/interesting in running for a position, please please PLEASE come talk to whomever you want to take over from. All of us are happy to tell you the ins and outs of our respective positions. And, it shows that you care!

February 23, 2013-Schriber’s (?) Volleyball!
If you’re interested in playing, there’s a sign-up sheet in the station. Our first game of the day is at 10:30. Also, please make sure to wear red shorts and your WIXQ shirt.
February 24, 2013- MEETING! HOT DOG, HOT DOG!
We have a meeting that night. It’s at 6 o’clock in SMC room 24. It is also the high way cleanup. I have a paragraph about that already, so, please refer accordingly.
March 6, 2013-Miss Millersville!
Shannon will be representing us in this year’s Miss Millersville! Make sure you go to support her and the station.

THERE WILL BE SO MUCH DANCING AND SO MUCH FUN IT WOULD LITERALLY BE A CRIME IF YOU DIND’T COME ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT HELPS OUT THE STATION AND ALSO A CHARITY SO I MEAN, REALLY.
We need help setting up and cleaning up for this event. This is seriously a huge deal, I’m not even kidding. Set up and tear down will take place on March 7-9. We will try and get a lot of stuff clean-up right after the dance because we need to be out by noon the next day. So please please PLEASE help.
