Interested in becomming a WIXQ jock?  There are three eligibility requirements:

• Current enrollment as a Millersville University student
• QPA of at least 2.00
  [Note: freshmen and transfer students are exempt from this requirement due to their lack of an established MU QPA]
• Non-probationary university status

If you've meet all of the above requirements, consider becoming a WIXQ DJ. To apply, you must attend one of this semester's station meetings. After you are registered, the training program consists of five weeks of on-air training and the production of an acceptable demo tape. For more information, e-mail our Operations Manager, Keith L. Please note, new DJs will almost certainly not be getting prime time slots their first semester post-training.  These slots are primarily reserved for DJs who have been with the station for some time.  It's considerably more likely that the slot you will receive for your first semester or two will be during "non-peak hours", between 1:00am and noon.  New DJs expecting to be immediately placed into afternoon or early evening slots will be disappointed.

However, there may be slight favoritism at play in both the DJ selection and timeslot distribution processes.  WIXQ encourages DJs to play music of types not found on most conventional commercial radio stations.  Especially encouraged genres include metal, urban, and indie rock.  To learn more, please read WIXQ's mission statement.
